Because this work can often feel solitary, our community provides a place for Spiritual Directors to connect with one another, develop their skills, and grow in their own personal development.

Members receive generous 20% discounts on selected LCSD courses and workshops. This helps you access high-quality training and ongoing formation at an affordable cost. Come to more than three events and the membership pays for itself!
Supervision Groups
Join one of our LCSD facilitated supervision groups. These groups offer a safe, structured environment to reflect on your practice, deepen your listening, and receive guidance from trained Supervisors.

How to apply

2. Confirm You Meet the Requirements
Check that you meet the Code of Practice. To be a Profile Member you need to:
be in regular Spiritual Direction
be in regular Supervision
have had safeguarding training within the last 3 years
3. Complete the Online Application
Fill in your details, profile information, and membership type.
4. Pay Membership Fee
Simple £30/year online payment to activate your membership.
5. Set Up or Update Your Directory Profile
Upload a photo, add specialisms, set availability, edit as needed if you have a profile.
6. Enjoy Your Member Benefits
Access events, discounts, Supervision, emails, and community.

If you are not currently in regular Spiritual Direction, regular Supervision, or do not have safeguarding training within the last 3 years, you may still join LCSD as an Affiliate Member.
Affiliate Members receive all benefits, but cannot have a Directory profile until the requirements are met.
You can update us anytime once you meet the full criteria. -
Membership runs from January to December each year.
The fee is £30 per year, regardless of when you join.
For example, if you join in June, your membership will still cost £30 and will expire in December.
A new payment will be required in January for the following year -membership does not automatically carry over.
This ensures all members are aligned with the annual cycle for benefits, Directory listings, and events.

You need to have completed Safeguarding Training (at least Basic Level 1).
Here are some ways you can find the necessary training:
If you are within the Church of England, you can access training here.
You can also access training from thirtyone:eight. They suggest that their webinar on Safeguarding Adults at Risk of Harm would be most appropriate for Spiritual Directors. Members of LCSD get a 10% discount.

Once you have completed your application and paid for your membership, you will be sent a code via email. We suggest you keep the code safe.
When you book an event that offers a discount:
Click on the “Book” button on the page.
Enter your personal information (name, email, etc.) and click “Continue to Payment” button.
On the payment page, fill in your payment details.
Under “Order Summary” you’ll see a field labelled “Package, gift, or coupon code”
Enter your code and click Apply.
Once applied, you should see your 20% member discount reflected in the total amount.
Follow the prompts to finalise your payment and booking. You’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details of your event.
