Please note: This is a supplementary workshop and does not provide Basic Level 1 Safeguarding certification. It is designed to complement your existing Safeguarding training by focusing on how Safeguarding principles specifically apply within the context of Spiritual Direction.

We are excited to offer this interactive online workshop that helps you integrate basic Safeguarding knowledge into your Spiritual Direction practice. Through engaging discussions and real-world case studies, we’ll explore how to approach Safeguarding issues with sensitivity and care, ensuring that your Spiritual Direction practice aligns with best Safeguarding practices.

  • This course is for Spiritual Directors.

    Before joining the workshop, we ask that you complete basic Safeguarding Training (minimum Basic Level 1). For certification, we recommend the Adults at Risk of Harm course from our trusted provider, ThirtyOne:Eight. You can visit ThirtyOne:Eight's training page for more information and to access their online courses. Additionally, LCSD members enjoy a 10% discount on ThirtyOne:Eight courses.

    Another course we recommend is HSQE’s Safeguarding Adults Level 1.

  • You’ll need a stable internet connection and a device capable of running Zoom. All course materials will be provided digitally via Google Drive, and you’ll receive details in advance of the course.

    You will need to have completed basic Safeguarding Training (minimum Basic Level 1).
