Supervision Training Course
We are re-designing our Supervision Course to with richer content, more practical Supervision time and deep formation. The course will launch January 2027!
The course will not simply train supervisors in skills, but form them in a contemplative way of presence, discernment, and authority.
Formative - the course invites participants to allow their learning to form them intellectually, practically, and spiritually, recognising that like spiritual direction, this is part of our response to God’s calling.
Contemplative - the contemplative element of supervision is both the ground and the distinctiveness of supervision of spiritual directors.
Practical - the course is grounded in real time practice with peers, tutors and “practice” supervisees, allowing students to immediately apply their learning.
Students should be able to demonstrate:
Minimum three years of spiritual accompaniment experience, with at least three directees;
Trained in SD on a recognised training programme;
In regular spiritual direction and supervision themselves;
Able to provide one reference from either their own supervisor or a member of their peer supervision group;
Evidence of ongoing learning and development;
Commitment and capacity for the course requirements.
