Not the ****ing Examen again!: Rediscovering the Examen

In this thought-provoking workshop, we'll explore why the Examen as as outlined in “The Spiritual Exercises” is at odds with how it is presented and practised.  We will look at the Western Christian Tradition, especially the scheme of the “three ways'' which goes back to Pseudo-Dionysius in the 5th Century. We will see how the Examen arises from the Tradition. We'll examine its origins, its significance within the broader scheme of spiritual practice, and its potential as a tool that answers our longing for God so we can recommend it to those who come for spiritual direction – and ourselves.

Through engaging discussions, personal reflections, and practical exercises, we'll rediscover the transformative power of the Examen.
