Safeguarding for Spiritual Directors 2020

Safeguarding Training is now an ethical mandate for spiritual directors.

with Dawn Watson

If you’ve not attended a course anywhere in the last five years, we encourage you to sign up for this workshop. Safeguarding Training is now an ethical mandate for spiritual directors who wish to follow the Centre’s Code of Practice.

From time to time spiritual directors may find themselves presented with a situation which concerns child or vulnerable adult abuse, either historic or current. This morning is designed as an event for all spiritual directors and those training to become spiritual directors on the issues we need to consider when working with vulnerable people.

The day includes a short lunch break.

**Please note that the cost is dependent on the venue; we will provide more information once we know if this will go ahead as a half-day online event or full-day event held at St Edmund’s.

Dawn Watson

Dawn is a very experienced trainer in safeguarding and knows the work of the Centre well. She works for Thirtyone:eight, formerly CCPAS. The inspiration behind the new name comes from Proverbs 31:8 which says: 'Speak out on behalf of the voiceless, and for the rights of all who are vulnerable'.
